With its stunning Greek Revival design, the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas is a beautiful, 100-year-old landmark. Originally designed by Dallas architect C.D. Hill, it was recently renovated under the direction of Architexas, a Dallas firm specializing in historic architecture preservation. While the project included extensive work on plaster, moldings, wood and marble flooring, perhaps the greatest effort was the cleaning and restoration of the dramatic stained-glass dome. Lighting for the auditorium is controlled by ETC’s Paradigm system, designed by Jason Foster of Horton Controls, an ETC Representative. The powerful system takes advantage of the sunrise/sunset features that allow the stained-glass windows to shine brightly at night. Source 4 incandescent fixtures illuminate both the stage area and the large pipe organ.
