Description
The Ming Hua, a historic 1962 French luxury liner now landlocked in Shenzhen’s Sea World cultural complex, was transformed into a vibrant cultural and entertainment venue and reopened in October 2025. The immersive physical theater show, The Deal, debuted aboard the ship, reflecting Shenzhen’s growth into a dynamic cultural hub. ETC provided the advanced lighting system, including the Gio console, Ion Xe RPU, and Response SMPTE Gateway, enabling seamless control of over 500 stage lights and special effects across eight scenes. The setup offers robust, intuitive lighting control, real-time backup, and synchronized audio-visual effects, enhancing the performance’s artistic vision. This project highlights the fusion of heritage and innovation through top-tier lighting technology, contributing to Shenzhen’s cultural renaissance.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]Quote
“In selecting lighting control equipment, we compared major global manufacturers. Our key requirements included robust output independent of stacking, real-time hot backup for performance safety, portability for movement across locations, the ability to simultaneously use multiple lighting protocols, and intuitive interaction for designers. We ultimately chose the Gio console for mobile programming and the Ion Xe RPU for hot backup and playback. The consoles perfectly fit The Deal performance format, offering powerful programming and control capabilities that are a great tool for designers. The success of The Deal confirms that ETC was the right choice.” – The Deal’s local production team
