Description

Carnegie Hall is an attractive Art Deco theatre in the heart of Dunfermline, Scotland. It offers a quality program of music, drama, comedy, dance, and children's shows. The venue’s rigging system required some upgrades to align with the latest technical standards and increase the operational ability to handle more extensive and technical performance requirements. A new ETC stage machinery system, including seven Prodigy P2 hoists, was installed, in addition to some modifications to the original theatre grid to allow for additional loads. The Prodigy system reduces the amount of manual work required versus the older hemp bar rigging system while also increasing the capacity of each rigging bar to facilitate larger productions. Completing the package, a QuickTouch Preset control system enables one operator to move the hoists easily – with real-time load and hoist position feedback – reducing staffing requirements and improving safety during set up and strip out for each performance.

“With this project, space restrictions for the installation itself presented a particular challenge – in the roof for the steelwork structure and for the motorized rigging system. Ultimately, the ETC Prodigy P2 package and QuickTouch Preset control system were the ideal choice, bringing a high level of safety and functionality to the user, saving time, and increasing the technical ability of the venue to deliver increasingly more complex performances.” – Stuart Fraser, Project Manager, Adlib
